Day 30, National Poetry Month–The End (maybe)

We’re here at the end of April and my final post celebrating, recognizing and writing during National Poetry Month. It’s been up and down. I haven’t felt fully motivated but I have felt committed to continuing the entire month.

Today, is the day I normally write something like a summary or post-mortem, or celebration of my experience. I don’t have one. What I have is my decision and follow through and maybe that is all it is—maybe the reflection will take some time and then I’ll know what I learned from this.

The End (maybe)

Learning
Sticking to something
Is it gift—or task

What I know
Is that for me
Letting words out
Finds the gift
Now—or later
And I am gifted
With new clarity
Sometimes it takes
Excavation
Sometimes it is just
A matter of seeing
For me sight is
Embraced and enhanced
With the word pictures
I find when I
Let my finger write
The words
Even before my mind
Has computed them

I guess that’s it
A finale’ of sorts
And a discovery in que
